At Ajna we offer heated power yoga classes & Peloton cycling. We encourage breath and body awareness throughout our classes so although physically challenging you ultimately guide your own practice. We support an inclusive environment and encourage you to honor where you’re at. The room is heated to 95 degrees. You can expect traditional yoga poses sequenced in a way that adds a “power” element which may include cardio, core and arm work to build strength, balance and flexibility.
When I began my yoga journey I was always seeking the next training or workshop and now with that experience I’ve settled in to a simple practice of mindfulness. My yoga practice is rooted in awareness and the idea that when you’re present you’re tuned in to your power and each breath offers an opportunity on and off your mat to come back to your center. As a teacher I focus on this awareness and offer an opportunity for challenge and ease so that you can discover your own individual balance.
I received my 200 Hour yoga training with Rasamaya, HYL Coach training with Health Yoga Life, Baron Baptiste’s Art of Assisting and am currently enrolled in Yoga Psyche Soul training with Ashley Turner.
I love yoga! I first started practicing out in Portland, Oregon, when I tried a class with a friend. I immediately fell in love and kept going. As a teacher (of yoga and public school music), I encourage my students to work in the space just beyond their comfort zone. I aim to lead classes that balance challenge and acceptance. Yoga gives us the opportunity to understand how to move the body safely and responsibly and practice self-compassion.
I received my 200 Hour training at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and have trained in trauma-informed yoga through Childlight Yoga.
